25-year-old woman from Mali, Halima Cisse has made it to world record as she welcomes nine children, nonuplets, in a single birth on Tuesday, May 4,2021.
The woman who once caught the attention of the press earlier in March after an ultrasound scan
detected seven (7) babies in her womb, followed by a need for special care that made authorities fly her to Morocco, where she gave birth to nonuplets.

According to Agence France-Presse, Halima Cisse gave birth to four boys and five girls, nonuplets, through a caesarian session handled by professional doctors.
“The newborns (five girls and four boys) and the mother are all doing well,” Mali’s health minister,
Fanta Siby, confirmed her safe delivery in a statement.
Mali’s government flew 25-year-old Halima to Morocco for better care on March 30. She was initially believed to have been carrying septuplets.
Cases of women successfully carrying septuplets to term are rare — and nonuplets even rarer.
Moroccan health ministry spokesman Rachid Koudhari said he had no knowledge of such a multiple birth having taken place in one of the country’s hospitals.
But Mali’s health ministry said in a statement that Cisse had given birth to five girls and four boys by Caesarean section.
“The mother and babies are doing well so far,” Mali’s Health Minister Fanta Siby told AFP, adding that she had been kept informed by the Malian doctor who accompanied Cisse to Morocco.
They are due to return home in several weeks’ time, she added.
