Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have raided Emerald Hotel, Ladipo area of Oshodi, Lagos state where some intending pilgrims to the ongoing hajj in Saudi Arabia were lodged and caught in the act of ingesting wraps of cocaine ahead of their flight to the holy land on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
NDLEA Intercepts Over #2B Worth Of Drugs At Lagos Airport, PH Seaports
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted large consignments of codeine-based syrup and Loud, a potent synthetic strain of cannabis, worth over N2.18 billion in street value. The seizures occurred at the Port Harcourt seaports, Onne, and Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, with coordinated efforts from NDLEA operatives and other security agencies.
On May 30, 2024, at approximately 10:50 AM, Delta State Police Command received a critical intelligence report from a vigilant member of a local vigilante group in Agbarho. The report, provided by an unnamed source, revealed the location of a hideout belonging to a group of suspected kidnappers who have been terrorizing the regions of Ughelli, Agbarho, Warri, Sapele, and their environs. The hideout was identified in the bush near Uwurghelli village, close to the rail tracks.
CP Olufemi reaffirmed the command’s commitment to promptly acting on credible information to prevent crime. He warned residents against engaging in unlawful activities, emphasizing that the command will diligently pursue and bring criminal elements to justice. He assured the public that no effort will be spared in maintaining law and order.
NDLEA Officer Receives Special Promotion For International Law Enforcement Award
Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), Chairman and Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has approved a special promotion for Francis Ameh Igonoh, a Superintendent of Narcotics. Igonoh has been honored with the prestigious 2024 International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) Outstanding Operational Success Award.

NDLEA Arrests Paris-Bound Businessman For Ingesting 111 Wraps Of Cocaine
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested Emmanuel Okechuku Orjinze, a 48-year-old businessman, for ingesting 111 wraps of cocaine at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja. Orjinze, who claims to be a professional footballer in Europe, was apprehended during the outward clearance of Air France flight AF 878 to Paris on May 21.

In a ceremonious event held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, Commissioner of Police for Delta State, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, proudly presented the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ekpan Police Station, CSP Aliyu Shaba, with the prestigious awards of DPO of the Year and Police Officer of the Year. These accolades were bestowed upon CSP Shaba at the maiden Nigeria Police Award and Commendation ceremony, which took place on April 15, 2024, in Abuja.
