Operatives of Ogun State Police Command, on Monday, June 7, 2021, arrested one Suleman Kazeem, an alleged notorious member of the dreaded AYE cult group for killing a rival cult member.
The suspect was arrested, following a distress call received by the DPO Shagamu Division, CSP Okiki Agunbiade, that the Aye and Eye confraternity rival cult groups were engaged in a supremacy battle at Latawa area of Sagamu, thereby causing unrest and obstructing the peace of innocent members of the community.
Upon the distress call, the DPO mobilized his men and moved to the scene, on getting there, it was discovered that a member of Eiye confraternity simply identified as “Ajekunrin” had been killed by they rival group. The late Ajekunrin’s hands was also cutoff by the rival group before escaping from the scene.
Confirming the incidence, The State Command,s Image Maker, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said the DPO and his men, in conjunction with the vigilante group had to trail the hoodlums to Agbowa area of Sagamu, where they succeeded in arresting one of their leaders Suleman Kazeem.
Recovered from him are: one double barrel locally fabricated pistol, one live cartridge and one Fonetom mobile phone.
Meanwhile, 35-years-old Blessing Ebuneku Agoro has been arrested by men of Ogun state police command for selling her two (2) biological daughters; 4-years-old Semilore Agoro and 2-years-old Deborah Agoro.
Blessing Agoro was arrested, following a report lodged at Redeemed Camp divisional headquarters by her husband, Oluwaseyi Agoro, who reported that, he travelled for some time, and when he returned on Tuesday, June 8; 2021, he couldn’t find his daughters. He stated further that all efforts to make his wife tell him the whereabout of the children proved abortive, hence his report.
Upon the report, the DPO Redeemed Camp division, CSP Alabi Akinjide detailed his detectives and arrested the suspect, who had already been with the camp’s code of conduct department.
During interrogation, the suspect explained to the police that, her husband left home for the past two (2) years, and while he was away, she found it difficult to cater for the children with her other two children she had for another man.
According to Blessing, while contemplating on what to do, one Kolawole Imoleayo introduced her to a couple in Port Harcourt who are in dare need of children, and she sold her two (2) daughters to the couple at the rate of three hundred thousand naira (300,000).
Her confession led to the arrest of the said intermediary, Kolawole Imoleayo and they are both assisting the police in their investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP, Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Anti Cultists Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence department for further discreet investigation so as to apprehend other fleeing cult members, while Blessing’s case has also been transferred to anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.
He equally directed that, the children must be rescued and brought back to their parents as soon as possible.
