In a collaborative effort between police operatives and local security forces, a raid was conducted at the Dangoli Fulani Camp in Kiyawa Local Government, Jigawa State, leading to the apprehension of two notorious suspects linked to a series of deadly armed robberies.
Identified as Musa Babangida, aged 18, and Bello Usman, aged 20, the suspects were found to be key figures in a criminal syndicate responsible for numerous heinous crimes in the region. During the operation, two AK-47 rifles along with 68 rounds of live ammunition, four magazines, a leg chain, and a boxer motorcycle were seized from the suspects.
Additionally, police recovered eight mobile phones, eight spare batteries, five SIM cards, a portable solar panel, an international passport, and a substantial sum of Two Hundred and Twenty-One Thousand, Five Hundred and Ten Naira (N221,510) in cash.
The arrest of Babangida and Usman marks a significant breakthrough in the fight against crime in the area, as they were allegedly involved in several armed robbery operations that resulted in numerous fatalities. Their capture brings relief to the community, which has been plagued by a wave of violence and insecurity.
The Nigeria Police Force have intensified efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating in the state, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and local communities in combating crime and ensuring public safety.
Suspects
Further investigations are underway to apprehend other members of the syndicate and to gather additional evidence for prosecution. The successful raid serves as a testament to the commitment of law enforcement agencies to rid the region of criminal elements and restore peace and security to the residents of Jigawa State.
