Polaris Bank recently hosted a thought-provoking webinar on International Women’s Day (IWD) at its headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos. Themed “Empowering Voices: Women Leading Change,” the event served as a dynamic platform for insightful discussions on women’s empowerment and inclusivity in society.
Held on March 12, 2024, the webinar featured a distinguished panel of experts who engaged in discussions encompassing various facets of women’s empowerment. Participants, including Polaris Bank customers and staff, were captivated by the compelling insights shared during the event.
The two guest speakers, Ms. Solape Akinpelu, CEO and co-founder of HerVest, and Dr. Ifeyinwa Nwakwesi, CEO of Healthy Living Services Nigeria Ltd., delivered remarkable presentations. Akinpelu emphasized the importance of inclusivity, urging proactive measures to counter societal biases against women. Dr. Nwakwesi provided valuable health tips for women to balance professional and family commitments while prioritizing their well-being.
Mr. Kayode Lawal, Polaris Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, reiterated the bank’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture. He emphasized the indispensable contributions of women to societal progress and economic development, reaffirming Polaris Bank’s dedication to creating a conducive work environment free from biases and discrimination.
Bukola Oluyadi, overseeing Sustainability at Polaris Bank, highlighted the significance of appreciating and encouraging women in the workplace. She emphasized that when women feel valued, it enhances their sense of contribution and overall satisfaction. The webinar concluded with a resounding call to action for all stakeholders to prioritize inclusivity and collaborate towards creating equitable opportunities for women in all spheres of life.
