In a powerful display of unity and determination, the Advocate for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN) stood alongside several civil society organizations at a rally organized by the Sisters of Charity Nigeria Region to mark World Human Trafficking Day on July 29, 2023.
The primary aim of the rally was to raise awareness about the pressing issue of human trafficking, aligning with the National Human Trafficking Day‘s objectives. The event commenced at the Catholic Church of Visitation on 1st Avenue in Festac Town and continued through Amuwo Odofin Local Government in Lagos.
Despite the relentless rain, the rally persevered, attracting survivors of human trafficking whose resilience inspired all participants to walk with renewed vigor. Barrister Yvonne from the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and a member of the advocate for children and vulnerable persons network, added to the energy, motivating
passersby and the public to join the movement and say no to human trafficking. The resounding slogan echoed through the crowd: “Our girls and boys, women, and men should not be used as commodities.”

ACVPN’s representation included Comrade Aderemi Blessing and Comrade Solomon Neye, who passionately stood for the cause.
The success of the event owes much to the efforts of Reverend Sister Justina, a vocal advocate for ACVPN and a key member of the organizing committee. Together, they reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating human trafficking and fostering a safer and more compassionate world for all.
