In a resolute display of commitment, Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Lagos State, Commandant Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, has solidified his unwavering support for the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Standing strong against the distressing issue of human trafficking, Alfadarai pledged his collaboration during a significant event on Thursday, August 31, 2023. The occasion was the launch of the poignant literary creation, “We are PRICELESS,” authored by the seasoned and esteemed journalist, Juliana Francis.
The event was graced by esteemed personalities including the distinguished former Inspector-General of Police and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase, the notable Mr. Femi Adesina, former Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, who conducted a thorough review of the book, among other eminent figures.

Deputy Superintendent of Corps Abolurin Oluwaseun, the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Command, represented Commandant Alfadarai, who couldn’t attend in person. The book, which powerfully sheds light on the challenges faced by the girl child and their vulnerability to trafficking, addresses not just the issue itself but also the means of rescue and successful reintegration into society.
In his representative’s heartfelt address, Oluwaseun Abolurin expressed the timeliness of the book’s release, highlighting the dire need for collective action in eradicating such an abhorrent practice from society. He reiterated the remarkable efforts of the NSCDC in combatting human trafficking and urged all attendees to spread awareness about the book, facilitating its wider reach so that individuals are better equipped to identify and address instances of trafficking.

The event underscored the significance of unity in tackling the grave concern of human trafficking. With Commandant Alfadarai’s unequivocal support and the collaborative efforts of various dignitaries and organizations, a promising stride forward has been taken in the fight against this egregious offense.
The “We are PRICELESS” book launch serves as both a testament to the determination of those involved and a beacon of hope for a future free from the clutches of human trafficking.
