Dangote Cement Plc has announced the release of two of its trucks which were erroneously intercepted in Adamawa State. The trucks, loaded with 900 bags of cement each from the Obajana Cement Plant, were en route to Jamtari, Maiha Local Government, Adamawa State, as per a customer’s request.![Dangote](https://fasnewsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/1200px-Dangote_Group_Logo.svg_-300x189.png)
The interception, which occurred on Friday, February 9, 2024, sparked controversy as security agents accused the trucks of attempting to export banned products to the Republic of Cameroon through Adamawa routes. This action followed an executive order by the Adamawa State Government prohibiting the transportation of food and building materials across the country’s border through Adamawa routes.
In a statement signed by the Group’s Chief Branding and Communication Officer, Mr. Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Cement Plc refuted the allegations, labeling them as false and malicious. Chiejina clarified that the company operates a cement plant in Cameroon, but the trucks were solely intended for domestic delivery within Adamawa State.
According to Chiejina, the trucks were intercepted at a village called Wurolabi by security agents who overlooked the details on the Waybill. Despite efforts by the drivers to explain the situation, the interception persisted. Subsequently, Dangote Cement officials were invited by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Adamawa State to present evidence proving the trucks’ intended destination.![Dangote](https://fasnewsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Dangote-Cement-800x444-1-300x167.jpg)

Furthermore, in a press briefing held at the Adamawa State Police Headquarters on Friday, February 16, the Adamawa State Government confirmed that both trucks were indeed bound for delivery within the state. They were subsequently escorted by police to ensure the products reached their intended customer.
Dangote Cement Plc expresses gratitude for the swift resolution of the matter and remains committed to serving its customers while complying with all regulatory requirements.
