APC Chieftain, and Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel on Friday, February 19, 2021 paid an unscheduled visit to one of the leaders of Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo at his Lekki home in Lagos.
This was Otunba Daniel’s first consultation visit since he declared for the All-Progressive Congress (APC) party on Tuesday, February 16,2021.
The former Governor used the opportunity to brief the Afenifere leader up to speed on his political journey and why he felt the APC will be most appropriate to take care of the political and economic interests of not only the South West but Nigeria in general.
Afenifere has been a constituency which Otunba Daniel has been closely associated with along with several other Yoruba cultural groups and interests including the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) which was believed to have been financed by him at the prompting of Late Justice Adewale Thompson, a former Attorney General of Oyo State when late Chief Bola Ige was Governor, and others about twenty (20) years ago.
OGD also waded in at the peak of the violent clashes between rival factions of the O’dua Peoples Congress in the South West, a mediation effort which paid off and brought peace to the operations and conducts of the Organization.
