As part of ongoing efforts to sustain the clampdown on militias, bandits and other criminal elements within the Joint Operations Area, troops of 3 Division and Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace conducted an intelligence driven operation at Manja along the fringes of Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State on 24 September 2025.
During the operation, troops encountered armed bandits who fled in disarray following the superior firepower of the soldiers. The troops exploited the area and recovered an assorted rifle, ammunition and two mobile phones abandoned by the fleeing criminals.
The recovered weapon and ammunition are in custody for further action. Meanwhile, intensive efforts are ongoing to track down and neutralise the escaping bandits.
According to Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer for Operation Enduring Peace, the operational success was achieved through troops’ alertness and readiness which remain the bedrock of their mission. He stressed that the task force remains committed to securing the Joint Operations Area and bringing perpetrators of heinous crimes to justice.
