With over 83 branches spread across the South-West, Kajola has steadily evolved into one of the region’s most structured and disciplined co-operative societies. Beyond savings and loans, the organisation has distinguished itself through monthly workshop trainings for cooperative leaders and heads of departments, aimed at strengthening governance, financial literacy and ethical leadership across its branches.

In her anniversary address, the Chairman, Honourable Mrs. Folake Monsurat Lumous, expressed deep gratitude and pride in how far the co-operative has come. She commended the executive members for their dedication and specifically applauded members for their honesty, steadfastness and commitment to the cooperative’s core values.

While appreciating those who have actively brought in new members, she encouraged non-active members to re-engage and contribute more meaningfully, cautioning all to remain vigilant against admitting fraudulent individuals that could undermine the society’s integrity.Co-operative

One of the highlights of the anniversary was the generous reward ceremony, where dedicated members were celebrated for their loyalty and performance. Electrical appliances, kitchen utensils and other valuable items were presented, while two outstanding members went home with a motorcycle and a generator respectively. Children of deserving members were also gifted in recognition of their parents’ positive impact within the cooperative, adding a warm family touch to the celebration.

The event was further enriched by the presence of respected invited guests, including representatives from The Ministry of Commerce, Co-operatives, Trade and Investment, Mr. Dauda Oriolowo, Mr. Isaac Adegboyega Adeleke, Alhaji Taoreed Olowoshile, Comrade Adetomiwa Obadare, Alhaji Omidiran Fatai, Mrs. Bukola Lumous, Mr. Waheed Ewujebe, Mr. Ayotunde Akintunde and Mr. Babatunde Akintunde, who all commended Kajola for its transparency and consistency over the years.Co-operative

With total shares and savings standing at over N110 million, total loans of N80 million, and a current bank balance of N34.6 million, Kajola recorded a net profit of over N4.7 million after expenses. The disclosure reinforced members’ confidence in the leadership’s commitment to accountability and sustainable growth.

Special recognition was also given to high savers, best returnees, outstanding attendees and members who successfully invited new participants into the co-operative.
