Rite Foods Limited, a leading food and beverage company, in partnership with Popbeach Club, has unveiled the 2024 edition of the ‘Riteonthebeach’ Festival, aimed at promoting ecological preservation and combating plastic pollution.

The event, held on November 11, 2024, in Lagos, featured a symposium for tertiary students from Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Law Faculties. This year’s festival marks the launch of the ‘Riteonthebeach’ Residency Programme, designed to transform waste plastic into opportunities through recycling, education scholarships, and job creation in coastal communities.Popbeach

Speaking at the event, Dennis Aideloje, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Manager at Rite Foods, reiterated the company’s dedication to tackling plastic waste. “Through this initiative, we aim to inspire young Nigerians to take responsibility for eliminating plastics on our coastlines while contributing to sustainable solutions for climate change,” he said.

Popbeach Club Founder, Akin Disu, emphasized the integration of technology, including blockchain, to enhance transparency and support ecological preservation. He highlighted the festival’s achievements, noting the removal of 30 tons of plastic waste over three years, as well as the creation of jobs and scholarships for over 1,000 coastal youth.Popbeach
