A prophet, Festus James has been arrested by the Ondo state police for reportedly raping a pregnant woman at Agbabu village via Ore, in the Odigbo council area of the state.

In a statement made available to FASNEWS by Ondo State Police Image Maker, DSP Funmi Odunlami the prophet who claimed to have traveled from Ibadan for a three-day revival, allegedly raped the 22-years-old eight (8) month pregnant woman under the pretence of performing deliverance on her.Ondo

“On November 13, 2021, a man named Festus James  from Ibadan, Oyo State, traveled to Agbabu village via Ore, claiming to be a Prophet,  claimed that the Holy Spirit commanded him to hold a three-day Holy Ghost Revival in a local church.

“The prophet said the next day that he had seen a vision about a 22-years-old woman who was 8 months pregnant and told her to stay behind after the program. He then took the pregnant woman into one of the mission house rooms under the pretence of rescuing her from an evil spirit and  had carnal knowledge her.

DSP Odunlami stated further that upon interrogation,  the suspect admitted to having sex with the woman, claiming he didn’t know why and what prompted him to committ such shameful act.

The suspect, according to Odunlami, will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
