The Nigeria Police Force has intensified its crackdown on crime, dismantling major arms smuggling, drug trafficking, and counterfeiting syndicates through coordinated intelligence-led operations.
On December 23, 2024, operatives of the Force Intelligence Department-Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS) intercepted a 30-year-old woman, Hauwa Sani, on the Keffi-Abuja Expressway. She was caught transporting 124 rounds of live ammunition concealed in a palm oil container, intended for delivery to Katsina State. Her confession led to further arrests and recoveries, as authorities urge vigilance against smuggling tactics.
In another breakthrough on February 1, 2025, police intercepted Alhaji Usman Yahaya, 50, and two accomplices in Yobe State with 30 cartons of codeine syrup and hard drugs, reportedly bound for armed groups, including Boko Haram insurgents and kidnappers.

Further tightening the noose on crime, FID-STS operatives arrested Yusuf Dantani, Usman Labaran, and Musa Mohammed on February 3, 2025, with 10 AK-47 rifles. The suspects admitted to arms trading and had just received nearly N4 million for a recent deal.
These successful operations underscore the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to eradicating organized crime and ensuring public safety. Authorities urge citizens to remain alert and report suspicious activities to law enforcement.
