Following a gun battle between men of the Ogun State Police Command and a group of kidnappers who abducted a Tipper driver on Friday, June 4, 2021 around noon at Mologede area of Odeda local government, one of the kidnappers was shot dead while others escaped with varying degrees of gunshot injuries.

DPO Bode Olude Police Division, DSP Durojaye Rotimi, after receiving a distress call that a Tipper driver has been abducted, mobilized his men in conjunction with other security operatives to the abduction scene,  where the hoodlums, upon sighting the security operatives, engaged them in a fierce gun battle after which, one of the kidnappers was shot dead and the victim rescued while other members of the gang escaped with gunshot injuries.

In a statement made available to Fasnews by the Image Maker of the command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, after the tipper driver was rescued, a massive manhunt for the escaped attack kidnappers was ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP, Edward Awolowo Ajogun and in compliance with the order, the entire forest of Mologede was combed, and in the process, the dead body of one of the excaped kidnappers was found while another with bullets wound was also found and arrested.
The arrested suspect who identified himself as Mohammed Bello, was discovered to be an ex- convict who has just been released from prison custody in Ibadan oyo state.

Some packets of tramadol and weeds suspected to be Indian hemp was recovered from him.
Meanwhile, CP. Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the transfer of the arrested suspect to anti kidnapping unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation.
