Men of Ogun State Police Command, today, Tuesday, September 7,2021 arrested a sixty-four (64)-years-old man for defiling a two (2)-years-old girl (name withheld).
The suspect, Ayotunde Taiwo, was arrested after the mother of the defiled two-years-old minor lodged a complaint at the Agbado Divisional Headquarters.
She reported that at around 11:00 am of Today, she noticed that her daughter was not walking properly; like she was in pain, and when she inspected her daughter’s body, she saw blood gushing out of her private part and immediately questioned her about what led to her bleeding.
The little girl pointed to the house opposite their own house and on getting to the house, the suspect was caught washing his blood stained boxer, indicating that he was the one that had just defiled the minor.
DPO Agbado Division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, upon the report, detailed his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.
The victim has been taken to the hospital for medical treatment while, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the state Command’s Family Support Unit at Ota area Command, for further investigation and prosecution.
In another development, three (3) suspects in connection with the diversion of goods valued at 4.7 million naira belonging to Hayat Kimya Company have been apprehended.
The suspects Oluwaseyi Oyetunde, Segun Oluwaseun and Chijoke Ogbu were arrested following a report made at Agbara Divisional Headquarters on the 29th of August 2021, by one Oluwatosin Ayodeji.
In a statement released by the State Police Command image maker, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Ayodeji lodged a complaint that Oluwaseyi Oyetunde, a driver to the company loaded goods worth of #4.7 million to be delivered to a customer in Lagos on the 24th of August 2021 and that the said driver did not make the delivery and has absconded with the goods and the truck.
“Upon the report, the DPO Agbara division, SP Saleh Dahiru detailed his crack police detectives to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the driver and the goods.
“The team embarked on an intelligence based investigation and traced the driver with the truck to Lagos state where he was promptly arrested with an empty truck.
“During police preliminary interrogation, the driver confessed to have diverted the goods to a receiver, who bought the goods from him at a give away price.
“His confession led the policemen to the shops of the two receivers, one Segun Oluwaseun and Chijeoke Ogbu, where parts of the stolen goods were recovered and the two receivers arrested,”the statement read in parts.
Meanwhile, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered a full investigation into the case with the view to recover the remaining stolen goods, and charge the suspects to court for prosecution.
