The event, described as the first of its kind at the Force Headquarters, was designed to foster interfaith harmony within the Force while reinforcing discipline, mutual respect, and cohesion among personnel drawn from diverse religious backgrounds.
The gathering attracted an array of dignitaries, including Senator Amos Yohanna of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs; Honourable Jafar Yakubu of the House Committee on Police Affairs; the President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Mrs. Oluwafumilola Disu; and the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Alhaji Mohammed Sheidu. Also in attendance were retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, and Prof. Imam Musa of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Abuja Branch, alongside other key stakeholders.

In his remarks, IGP Disu reflected on the spiritual significance of Ramadan and Lent, noting that both periods emphasize reflection, sacrifice, and service to humanity. The Inspector-General underscored the importance of religious harmony as a cornerstone of professionalism and effective policing, urging officers to embody the values of peace, tolerance, and selflessness, particularly during the holy season.
He further assured Nigerians that security has been significantly strengthened across all states of the federation, with enhanced deployments, increased surveillance, and proactive measures put in place across Commands and Formations to guarantee a safe and peaceful environment throughout the festive period.
