Police Arrests 20-Years-Old Man For Sexually Assaulting Minor In Lagos

Detectives at the Akodo Police Division, Lagos State, have arrested 20-years-old Ayo Adenupebi, a resident of Ise town, Akodo, for sexually assaulting a nine (9)-years-old minor(name withheld) who lives on the same street with him.

The incident was reported after the victim’ s elder sister noticed blood stains on the minor’s thigh around 7:00pm on Nigeria independents day.
According to the minor’s sister, the victim alleged that the suspect, ayo sexually assaulted her and warned her not to tell anyone including her parents.  Minor
The minor’s father immediately went to the police station to file a report which prompted detectives to arrest the suspect,Ayo.
The suspec after his arrest, confessed to have truly molested the nine-year-old girl but was quick to plead for leniency,claiming he can’t really explained what made him committed the crime.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu who condemned this criminal act after being briefed, admonishes parents and guardians to keep an eye on their wards particularly the female children to avoid being sexually violated by shameless and irresponsible men preying on innocent female victims in the neighbourhood.

He also has directed that the suspect should be transferred to the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution. Meanwhile, the victim has been taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
