The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and detained three (3) students of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, in connection with the death of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-years-old fellow student that was recently beaten to death.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu said the arrested students were part of the five (5) alleged bullies said to have brutalised Sylvester, leading to his death.
Although the Police Boss did not give details of the identities of the suspects in custody, he confirmed that they are key suspects.
Odumosu stated further that the command would go for Sylvester’s post mortem in Delta State, and assured that both Lagos and Delta State Police were cooperating to solve the riddle behind the case.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Ministry of Education had earlier ordered the indefinite closure of Dowen college to give room for proper investigation.
Speculations have also been widely spread about how parents of one of the accused boys withdrew their son from the school after learning of Sylvester’s death.
However, the suspected Dowen students in custody are said to be cooperating with the police in their investigation.
