Ogun State Police Command detectives on Saturday, November 19, 2022, arrested a pastor and two (2) others for abducting, killing and dismembering 39-years-old Adekunle Muyiwa for ritual purpose. The suspects, Idowu Abel, Clement Adeniyi and Pastor Felix Ajadi were arrested following a missing person’s report lodged at Owode Yewa Police divisional headquarters on November 15, 2022 by Oluseyi Adekunle (the elder brother of the victim) who reported that his younger brother left home on November 10, 2022 and didn’t return home.
Upon the report, the DPO, CSP Mohammed Baba, detailed his Crack detectives to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the man and in the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Idowu Abel was the person who came to pick the missing man from his house on that fateful day.
Armed with the information, police traced and arrested Abel who confessed that he lured his bossom friend to his second accomplice, Clement Adeniyi”s farm where he ( Muyiwa) was killed and butchered.
According to the state police image maker, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect, Abel, confessed that, it was an herbalist that was introduced to him by pastor Felix Ajadi who requested for human head,heart,two hands and legs.
He stated further that the said herbalist who is now at large promised to pay him the sum of #200,000 if he is able to get the listed human parts for him and that was why he lured his friend to the butchering slab.
“The herbalist paid #80,000 as advance payment with the promise to pay the balance of #120,000 on receiving the items,” Abel said.
After collecting the advance payment, Abel went to his bossom friend Muyiwa and asked that he followed him to another friend’s place and the victim who didn’t suspect any foul play followed him innocently to Clement’s farm where he was killed.
“After killing him, we cut-off his head, his hands and legs and we also removed his heart. We buried the remaining body in a shallow grave in clement farm and gave the herbalist the parts that we harvested from Muyiw’s corpse.
Suspects
His confession led to the arrest of Clement Adeniyi and Pastor Felix Ajadi, while the herbalist who was simply identified as Abeeb a.k.a Boko is on the run.
After briefing the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, he ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Departments for discreet investigation and also directed that the fleeing herbalist be hunted for and brought to book.
