In a remarkable conclusion to its nationwide financial literacy campaign, Polaris Bank hosted an impactful session at Government Day Secondary School, Pantami, Gombe State, as part of activities commemorating World Savings Day 2024.
This initiative, spearheaded by the Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, was aimed at fostering a culture of savings and financial responsibility among young Nigerians.
The program, which ran across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), equipped thousands of students with essential knowledge about savings and personal finance. The final session, held on November 14, 2024, was marked by engaging discussions and hands-on lessons to inspire young learners to develop prudent financial habits early in life.
Speaking at the event, Aliyu Baba Adamu, Polaris Bank Group Head for the North East and representative of the MD/CEO, emphasized the Bank’s commitment to bridging the financial literacy gap in Nigeria. “Through this program, we aim to empower young Nigerians with the knowledge and skills needed to make sound financial decisions. Our goal is to support Nigeria’s journey toward financial inclusion, economic growth, and sustainability,” he stated.
The Principal of Government Day Secondary School, Mal. Muhammad Saje Daudu, lauded Polaris Bank’s initiative, describing it as transformative. “This program has provided our students with invaluable insights into the importance of savings and financial discipline. We deeply appreciate Polaris Bank’s investment in the future of our youth,” he remarked.
Running from October 28 to November 14, 2024, the initiative underscored Polaris Bank’s dedication to impactful social responsibility programs. It aligned with the Bank’s vision of empowering young Nigerians to navigate an increasingly complex financial landscape.
Polaris Bank’s legacy of excellence was further reaffirmed by its recent accolade as Nigeria’s Digital Bank of the Year for four consecutive years (2021-2024) by Business Day’s Banks and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards.
