In a strategic move to deepen public understanding and transparency around its housing initiatives, the Post-Service Housing Development Limited (PHDL) of the Nigerian Army held an interactive session with key media stakeholders at its corporate headquarters in Abuja on Monday, 4 August 2025.

The engagement was part of ongoing efforts driven by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General OO Oluyede, to enhance personnel welfare and foster stronger civil-military relations. Addressing journalists at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PHDL, Major General Isaiah Allison, reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to affordable, quality housing for its personnel.

“Our flagship program, the Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers (AHOOAS), reflects the COAS’ vision to build a well-motivated and combat-ready force,” Maj Gen Allison stated. “We believe the media plays a vital role in ensuring our message and progress reach the public clearly and truthfully.”PHDL

The parley featured robust discussions and information-sharing between PHDL officials and the media, with a shared commitment to improving public confidence and transparency in Army housing delivery.

The initiative also underscores the Nigerian Army’s broader reform philosophy, which places high priority on the welfare of its men and women in service, as well as retirees.
