The National Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Alhaji Ibrahim Olaniyan on Friday has called For More Prayers and Support for the Officer of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to enhance adequate security and to stall the trend of crime and criminality in the country.
PCRC National Chairman made the call when he visited the Force Headquarters Mosque Abuja on Friday, April 7,2023 to distribute relief materials to Muslim faithfuls for Ramadan and Easter Celebrations.
He also advocated Support for Police Officers after Donating Relief Material to Muslims Personnel for Ramadan at the Police Force Headquarters Mosque in Abuja.
“Our Police is not Ghanian or Gambian Police but Nigeria Police, therefore, let us support their efforts to make our society crime free. We are here today to show our love and support to Nigerian police clearly muslims among them. Yesterday, we went to the Inspector-General of Police to distribute these relief materials to all personnel, not only Muslim alone, both Christian or Pagan. This is Easter and Ramadan packages, and we are at the Force Headquarters mosque for special ones for the muslims among police officers.
“We did this and Christmas. We’re going to repeat it every Christmas. we’re going to support the church, the Force Headquarters church, because we want them to feel our impact, and these are two religious solve the Nigerian police.’ National PCRC Chairman said.
The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) as part of it activities in ensuring adequate support for the Nigerian Police in executing it constitutional Mandate, paid some courtesy visits to Inspector General of Police, Police Service Commission Leadership, Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) and the Force Headquarters Mosque Abuja, where the Committee donated some items to the commission leadership, to help relief the muslim officers of the hardship encounter during the Ramadan.
National Chairman said the PCRC was in the Commission to congratulate him on his appointment and to let him know that they were vigorously building on the legacies he established as the 18th Inspector General of Police.
He said PCRC now has offices outside the country, such as in Canada, United Kingdom, etc, adding, “We are here to say that the fruit God used you and others to plant has germinated. We are here to rejoice with you and show you love.”
The Police Community Relations Committee is a community policing based organization established by the Leadership of Nigeria Police Force in 1984 to foster a partnership between the Police and the community with a view to enhancing efficient and effective policing of communities in Nigeria.
The Committee will be thirty-nine (39) years-old on May 8th, 2023.
