OPFY Foils Reprisal Plot, Dozens Of Terrorists Neutralised

In a decisive blow against terrorism, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) have neutralised dozens of terrorists in a coordinated air and ground assault at the Makakkari general area of Gando Forest, Bukkuyum Local Government Area, Zamfara State, on 10 August 2025.

The operation was launched after credible intelligence revealed a large convergence of fighters loyal to the late Halilu Buzu and Alhaji Beti. The armed group was reportedly preparing to stage a reprisal attack on the farming communities of Adabka and Nasarawan Burkullu in Bukkuyum LGA. Intelligence sources said the planned assault was aimed at avenging recent battlefield losses in clashes with security forces and hybrid units.

Following the aerial bombardment, OPFY’s Sector 2 ground troops swiftly intercepted and eliminated several fleeing terrorists attempting to escape the strike zone.

Reaffirming its resolve, OPFY assured law-abiding citizens that terrorists and other armed non-state actors would find no safe haven in the North West and parts of the North Central Zone. The operation’s command urged residents to cooperate with security forces by reporting suspicious activities without delay, stressing that timely intelligence remains critical to safeguarding communities and ending the menace of terrorism and banditry.
