Two (2) armed robbery suspects, Kenneth Akpa and Adebayo Michael have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.
The suspects were arrested upon information received by policemen attached to Iperu Divisional Headquarters, that a suspected stolen Toyota Corolla 2008 model was sighted at a mechanic workshop along Ogere/Iperu road where the suspected robbers were making effort to fix the car.
Upon the information, the DPO Iperu Division promptly mobilized detectives to the scene and the two (2) suspects were arrested while the vehicle with registration number MUS 599 GV was recovered and owner of the car, one James John Ushahemba, a resident of Ahoyaya, Lagos state was contacted.
In his statement, Mr. Ushahemba explained that he was attacked in his home on Monday, December 20, 2021 around 1:30 am by two (2) armed men and robbed him of his Toyota Corolla car, three (3) different phones and a cash sum of #30,000 at gun point.
Preliminary investigation, according to Ogun Police Command’s Image Maker, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi is being conducted and the case will be forwarded to the Lagos State Police Command, where the suspects will be charged to court.
In the same vein, operatives of Ogun Police Command have arrested four (4) suspected internet fraudsters over the murder of a 20-years-old man, Alexander Uzoma.
The suspects were arrested after a complaint was lodged at Adigbe Divisional Police Headquarters by the mother of the victim, Mrs. Ogechi Alexander, who reported that her son, Alexander Uzoma left home to visit some unknown friends on the 20th of November 2021 and did not return.
A case of missing person was subsequently incidented at Adigbe division, but when the whereabout of the victim remained a mystery after some days, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, for discreet investigation.
DSP Nurudeen AbdulGafar incharge of the investigation, embarked on an intelligence and technical based investigation which led to the identification of one Owoseni Babatunde has the person who was last seen with missing Uzoma and he was promptly arrested.
Babatunde later led policemen to arrest his co accomplices namely:Azeez Oyebanji a.k.a Biggy, Ayobami Adesina and Balogun Sulaiman.
During interrogation, they confessed that Uzoma whom the first suspect, Babatunde already confirmed to have been dead, came to their house to learn about internet fraud, and after eating, they all took a substance known as Colorado which made them to fall asleep.
“They confessed further that when they woke up at about 8.00 pm, they met the victim on the floor already vomited all over his body and that when they tried to carry him, they discovered that he was no longer breathing. At that point, Biggy from whom they bought the drug was invited, and he advised that they should throw the corpse away.
“It was then that Ayomide and Gafar arranged for Uber driver to come and when the driver came, Ayomide collected the vehicle from him and used it to carry the corpse to the top of Kuto overhead bridge where it was dumped. The corpse was later removed by the state health workers and buried as unknown corps,” DSP Oyeyemi narrated.
Preliminary investigation also revealed that there was a mark of violence on the head of the deceased as shown in the picture taken by the health workers before it was buried.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole has ordered the investigating team to expedite action on the investigation and charge the case to court as soon as possible.
