Eluyera Wasiu has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for planning with one Adeniyi Taiwo, ( who is also in police custody) to kill his 29-years-old pregnant wife.

The suspect and his accomplice, were arrested following a distress call received by DPO Ogijo Police Divisional Headquarters from concerned members of the public on Saturday,January 1, 2022, that the police should come intervene,that the two (2) men who were engaged  in a very serious physical combat at oponuwa area of Ogijo, and all efforts to separate them as been fruitless.
In a statement made available to FASNEWS by the Ogun State Command, DPO Ojigo, CSP Muhammed Baba, quickly detailed his men to the scene, where the two suspects were still in in combat and they were promptly arrested.
It was during interrogation to know the cause of the fight that Adeniji opened up and informed the police that Wasiu contracted him to kill his pregnant wife, one Bola Taiwo.

He explained that Wasiu promised to give him ten thousand Naira (#10,000) for the job, out of which he already got five thousand Naira (#5,000), that they started fighting because Wasiu came back to ask for the deposit, claiming he (Adeniji) wasn’t making any attempt to do his job.
Police preliminary investigation revealed that, Wasiu was married to Bola Taiwo but they got separated due to irreconcilable differences and later got married to another woman who is presently living with him. But somehow, he met with his former wife and they stated an affair again which resulted to pregnancy.
In order not to upset his new wife, Wasiu asked Bola to terminate the pregnancy the suggestion that was rejected by Bola Taiwo.Having tried all he could to abort the pregnancy to no avail, Wasiu decided to eliminate the woman and the pregnancy.
In his confessional statement, Wasiu stated that he had twice bought food for her from an eatery and laced the food with poison, but the lady by providence did not eat the food. It was when all his personal efforts to kill her failed that he contracted Adeniyi Taiwo to help him eliminate her.
He confessed further that, he personally took Adeniji to Bola’s house, and he gave him her picture for easy identification. But when he didn’t carry out the assignment as agreed, he demanded for the refund of the advance payment he made to him, and his refusal led to the fight which eventually led to their arrest.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered a full scale investigation of the case with the view to arraign the suspect in court as soon as investigation is completed.
In another development, a 32-years-old fashion designer, Oyapitan Omowumi, was on Wednesday 29th of December 2021, arrested by Men of the Ogun State Police Command over the killing of one 30-years-old Mohammed Ahmed.
The suspect was arrested following a distress call received by the police at Onipanu Divisional Headquarters from one Stephen Udo, the managing director of Splendour Guest Inn, who reported that argument ensued between two of his guests in the hotel, and in the process, one of them, Omowumi broke a bottle and used it to stab Muhammed in the neck.
Upon the distress call, the DPO Onipanu Division, CSP Bamidele job, quickly mobilized his men and moved to the scene where the victim was met in the pool of his own blood.
The suspect was promptly arrested, while the victim was rushed to state hospital Ota, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

The Ogun State Command Image Maker, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi while confirming the incidence said investigation revealed that the victim, who has been in the hotel since Monday, 27th of December 2021, was hiding there after stolen the sum of six hundredthousandNaira (#600,000) belonging to his boss at Hayorlak Hotel where he was working as bartender.
It was further gathered that he used part of the stolen money to lodge some of his friends, and that he had altercation with one of those he lodged in the hotel because he accused him of stealing part of his money, the accusation led to a hot exchange of words between them.
The suspect, Omowumi, who claimed to know the other boy in their street intervened and the deceased who was not pleased with her intervention gave her a fist blow in the mouth and in retaliation, she broke a bottle and used it to stab the deceased on his neck.
The suspect has been transfered to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
