I have been reading stories of Amosun being the greatest loser of the last governorship election in Ogun State, and my sympathy for those people in Dapo Abiodun’s media cabinet who are so excited in projecting such increased many fold. They are the first casualty of Dapo Abiodun’s bad administration; they are grossly incompetent to do intelligent postulations and analysis of reality. Reason for this is simple, they have less to tell Ogun State citizens about the man they are working for, so the Governor himself becomes their immediate ‘victim’, he is their audience and to satisfy their sycophantic ego, they direct all their messages towards their employer rather than towards Ogun State people who understand the harsh reality of the bad governance which Dapo Abiodun represents.
I will explain this in very simple but clear language. If in 2019, Dapo Abiodun with all the coalition of forces against Ibikunle Amosun managed to defeat Amosun’s candidate (whether rigged or robbed) by a paltry 19,000 votes margin, and just four years after, Dapo Abiodun and his sycophants are celebrating an election which was very clear he lost and got INEC to award to him in very controversial circumstance with 13,912 votes after every doctored records brazenly. Who should be ashamed? That was why no one is celebrating; civil servants are crying, market women and men and cursing, except the “men in yellow” both in rentals as political choruses, and appointees who think their bread has again been buttered. But this will be short lived because the genuine hopes of the people of Ogun State will not tarry nor wane beyond the night. God will hear their cry and come to their rescue sooner than later.
How Amosun Wins. It may be difficult for some people to accept the truth that a man who swims against the tide is the hero of any contest. It is about the courage to dare the odds, which is very rare in our political environment where everybody is always too eager to queue behind the person or a group of people controlling the lever of Power whether legitimate or otherwise. Amosun therefore is my own hero, he won the election because he followed his conviction for a Yewa Project which he started in 2019 and he lost only to the Yewa people themselves who whether by a Curse or consensus have been condemned not to be interested in the leadership of Ogun State. Amosun lost only to those people in Yewa who only mouth and chorus Yewa Agenda for their own selfish economic benefits. To heck with Yewa Agenda if it is in conflict with the physical and material survival of members of the elite clubs of that region.
L-R: Former Governor of Ogun State,Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Governor of Ogun State Prince Dapo Abiodun
Amosun’s ADC (which flew Biyi Otegbeye on its banner) polled 94,000, that is the Amosun magic. For a party which was deliberately bogged down by several legal traps and court processes instigated to slow down the take off of the party by the same Dapo Abiodun and his several fronts. No one gave ADC any chance to win in the election. *The 94,000 votes scored by ADC is more than the total 86,592 votes polled by Prince Dapo Abiodun who is a serving Governor, in his entire Ogun East Senatorial District*. I repeat, Dapo Abiodun who lost in all the three local governments in his Remo Federal Constituency could not have defeated Amosun, the Yewas did, just as they have defeated many other sponsors before him.
The real outcome of the 2023 governorship election is a total rejection of Prince Dapo Abiodun. Ogun State people did not vote for a continuation of a reign of terror because they know that the return of Dapo Abiodun to power is the enthronement of lawlessness and brigandage. The people of Ogun East who have lived under the oppressive terror of Efele in Ososa, Danku and his ilk in Sagamu, Eluku in Ogere, Yaro in Ijebu Ode voted for their own freedom from the reign of terror which Dapo Abiodun represents. A closer look at the results of wards and local government where these strong boys operate will show you that they all failed to deliver. The people who have been oppressed, bruised, and abused said in unmistaken words in total rejection of Dapo Abiodun.
How do you call a win margin in 2019 and a stolen margin of 13,000 in 2023? Is that a promotion?
