The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), demonstrating its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Nigerians through intelligence-driven strategies, has recently recorded significant successes in its fight against crime.

The proactive measures have disrupted criminal networks and led to a notable decrease in organized and violent crime, strengthening the nation’s overall security landscape.
In a major breakthrough, operatives of the Force Intelligence Bureau Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) apprehended Ogaga Dickson, a 35-year-old member of a notorious armed robbery syndicate. The gang was implicated in the tragic death of CSP Hassan Jega, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbarho Division, Delta State.Police
CSP Jega was killed on October 14, 2024, during a gun battle when his team foiled one of the syndicate’s robbery operations. Following extensive investigations, police operatives stormed the gang’s hideout, neutralizing four of its members. Ogaga’s arrest on November 1, 2024, led to the recovery of weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, an English pistol, a locally made pistol, various ammunition, and six exotic vehicles.
In another operation, operatives dismantled a child-trafficking syndicate led by Pastor Dayo Bernard of the End Time Army Ministry in Bukuru, Plateau State. The raid, conducted on December 2, 2024, resulted in the rescue of five children aged 2–4, who had been abducted from homes in Jos, Plateau State.
Additional arrests included syndicate members Rita Agboeze, Victoria Ugwu, Nanman Puntel, and Peter Ukwuani. During interrogation, Pastor Bernard confessed to abducting and selling 13 children, all of whom have since been rescued by the police and reunited with their families through the Plateau State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.Police
In line with the Inspector-General of Police’s directive to mop up illegal arms nationwide, operatives of the FID-IRT successfully recovered 14 AK-47 rifles in separate operations.
These operations underscore the unwavering determination of the Nigeria Police Force to combat crime and enhance national security. The achievements highlight the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing and proactive enforcement strategies.
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, commended the operatives for their commitment and reaffirmed the NPF’s resolve to sustain the momentum in addressing crime across the country.
