Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the interdenominational church service to mark the 2021-Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration at the National Christian Centre in Abuja on Sunday, January 10,2021 said, despite the prevailing insecurity and other challenges confronting the country, Nigerians need to remain committed to a united nation.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, Osinbajo said Nigerians must, at every opportunity, insist that every great multi-ethnic and multi-religious nation has, through thick and thin, fought to realize the great dividends of diversity and pluralism.
Osinbajo enjoined Nigerians to show more commitment to the nation’s unity and the task of building a better society in honor of the fallen heroes. The struggle to ensure a more perfect federation is a lifelong enterprise to which each generation must resolutely commit. Drawn from all across the country, these brave men and women of the Armed Forces have made our nation proud and their lives show us what it means to be patriots.
“Each one of them reminds us of the timeless words of our national pledge ‘to be faithful, loyal and honest, to serve Nigeria with all our strength, to defend her unity and uphold her honor and glory’,” Osinbajo said.
