- Lagos State Police Command today, Monday 7th of March, 2022 said the driver(simply identified as Andrew) of the BRT boarded by the 22-year-old fashion designer, Ayanwole Oluwabamise, who got missing after boarding the bus in Lekki but was found dead, has been arrested .
Oluwabamise‘s copse was said to have been recovered by the officers of Ebute Ero Police Station, Lagos Island after they were alerted by residents that a corpse was abandoned in the area.
Recall that FASNEWS reported that Oluwabamise was missing on Saturday, February 26, 2022, while returning to Ota from Lekki/Ajah when she boarded a BRT bus with number 240257 going to Oshodi around 7:001 p.m. at Chevron Bus-Stop.
Fasnews gathered that Oluwabamise, who worked as a Fashion Designer at Chevron Estate, Ajah but spends her weekends at Ota, Ogun State, with her sister, sensing danger when she noticed the bus did not pick any other passenger at subsequent bus stops, engaged a friend using voice notes on her phone.
“The voice notes showed that the bus driver said he liked Oluwabamise and asked for her name and other details.” Fasnews gathered.
According information, she was said to have told her friend to pray for her as she became suspicious of the bus driver and in response, the friend told her to alight at Oworonsoki bus stop instead of her original destination, Oshodi bus stop.
The victim also sent a video to her friend showing how dark it was in the bus and said, “There are three (3) men and one woman in the bus. The woman is sitting at the back. That’s the number of the bus in case. Please pray for me”.
