Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 38-years-old commercial driver, Udoh Daniel for allegedly stabbing to death, one Emaka Umonko, husband to the suspect’s alleged secret lover.

Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested on the 7th of January 2022 at Ota area of the state after a distress call was received by the Divisional Police Officer, Onipanu Divisional Headquarters, CSP Bamidele Job.

He said the deceased who was alleged to have been suspecting the suspect of having an affair with his wife, confronted and accused the suspect of having illicit affair with his wife, and this led to a serious fight between the two men.

DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi in the statement made available to FASNEWS added that while the fight was going on, the suspect, brought out a knife and stabbed the deceased severally at his back and chest.

“Upon receiving the report, DPO Onipanu quickly detailed his men to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested, and the knife recovered as an exhibit.

“The victim, a welder, was rushed to the State Hospital, Ota, but was unfortunately, pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.Police

“the remains of the victim was subsequently deposited at Ifo General Hospital mortuary for post mortem examination,” Oyeyemi narrated.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole has directed that the suspect be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, (SCIID) for further investigation, with the view to charging him to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
