Bauchi state police have arrested a 22-year-old man, Musa Hamza for allegedly beheading a teenager and dismembering his body by gouging out the victim’s eyes, burnt the body and head, which he later buried in a shallow grave in the Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State on December 30,2020.
The incident was said to have happened on December 30, 2020, around 7.20pm when one Hafsatu Wada of Zango area, Jama’are LGA, reported at the Jama’are Police Station, Bauchi, that her niece was found in a pool of blood. She told the police that the six-year-old was rushed to a hospital, where it was confirmed that her private parts had been cut off with a sharp object.
This is coming three (3) days after the Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, disclosed that a twenty (20) years-old man was arrested for allegedly cutting off the private parts of a six (6) years-old child for ritual purposes.
“On December 21, 2020, around 9.30am, detectives of the Alkaleri divisional police headquarters arrested one 22 years old Musa Hamza of Unguwar Wake village, Alkaleri LGA, for allegedly luring one 17 years-old Adamu Ibrahim of same address into the outskirts of the village forest and killed him with a stick and then beheaded him. He forcefully gouged out his two eyes, burnt the body and head, and buried them separately in a shallow grave located in a nearby bush. During investigation, all the buried human parts were exhumed and taken to the General Hospital, Alkaleri, for medical examination, where a medical doctor certified that some body parts has truly been removed.”
“The two eyes were recovered from the principal suspect, who voluntarily confessed to have committed the crime and was asked by a ritualist to bring the eyes for ritual to enable him to be rich.” Wakil narrated.
The exhibits recovered from the suspect, according to the police spokesman, are one knife, one Mp3 player, a pair of rubber shoes and a lighter. He stated that the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
