A new chapter has begun at the Headquarters of Operation FASAN YAMMA (OPFY) as Major General Warrah Idris officially assumed command, succeeding Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi.

The brief but symbolic ceremony took place at the Theatre Headquarters in Gusau, Zamfara State, on November 3, 2025, following the latest round of senior military postings announced by the Army Headquarters.

In his farewell remarks, Air Vice Marshal Abdullahi, who has been redeployed to the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters as Chief of Policy and Plans, expressed gratitude to officers, men, and civilian staff for their loyalty and dedication. He lauded their teamwork and professionalism, which he said were central to the successes recorded during his tenure.
