The Lagos State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in its renewed campaign against violent crime and cultism, with the arrest of eight suspected cultists and armed robbers in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Bullock Tactical Team stormed a notorious criminal hideout in the early hours of October 15, 2025, around 0530 hours, where the suspects were allegedly plotting attacks within the community.
Those arrested include Fadiya Ayodele (27), Lawal Rasheed (28), Akerele Demilare (27), Alimi Victor (23), Okiki Alufoge (25), Nurudeen Dolapo (25), Agboola Samuel (25), and Ayolade Victor (25).
A search of the premises led to the recovery of several incriminating items, including a Nigerian military camouflage uniform, a battle axe, an assault dagger, assorted charms, and counterfeit $100 bills amounting to $3,000.
During interrogation, Fadiya Ayodele confessed to being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in Odogunyan. He further disclosed that he had earlier handed over a locally made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently on the run.
Police sources confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and recover the firearm.
Reacting to the successful operation, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the operatives for their professionalism, tactical precision, and dedication to duty.
He assured Lagos residents that the Command remains fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of all communities across the state, adding that targeted operations against criminal gangs and cult groups will continue until the menace is completely eradicated.

“The safety of Lagosians remains our top priority. We will not rest until every criminal element is flushed out of the state,” CP Jimoh declared. The arrested suspects are currently undergoing further investigation and will be charged to court upon completion of the inquiry.
