In a strategic move to deepen transparency and ethical governance in Nigeria’s public institutions, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, received the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, FCCA, and members of his Board at the IGP Smart Conference Room, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The high-level engagement marked a significant step in fostering institutional synergy aimed at upholding integrity, transparency, and accountability in public service.

The meeting, attended by the Force Management Team and other senior police officers, was characterized by mutual recognition of the role both bodies play in safeguarding ethical standards across Nigeria’s public landscape.

Dr. Bello, while congratulating the IGP on his progressive leadership, commended the Nigeria Police Force for measurable gains in professionalism and ethical conduct under his watch. He emphasized that the Bureau seeks to partner more closely with the Police in reinforcing compliance mechanisms, particularly in asset declaration, conduct investigations, and enhancing information-sharing protocols to bolster transparency in governance.

Responding, IGP Egbetokun highlighted the critical role of the CCB in promoting integrity across government institutions and assured the Bureau of the Police Force’s unreserved support. He reaffirmed that under his administration, the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to institutional accountability, public trust, and proactive collaboration with agencies such as the CCB.IGP
