Former Governor of Ogun State and current Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, Senator Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel, has extended a heartfelt congratulatory message to Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland designate, ahead of his installation as the 44th Olubadan.

In his letter addressed to the palace of the Olubadan in Ibadan, Senator Daniel praised the monarch-in-waiting for his illustrious journey through politics, business, and statesmanship, describing him as a man whose life embodies resilience, foresight, and unwavering commitment to service.

Daniel noted that Ladoja’s elevation to the exalted throne of Ibadanland goes beyond personal honour, stressing that it represents divine recognition of his steadfastness and an opportunity to further unite and prosper Ibadanland.

“This installation is not merely a personal honour but a divine recognition of your steadfastness. It is a call to yet higher duty, to unite, to prosper, and to guide Ibadanland with wisdom,” he wrote.

The senator, who served as Governor of Ogun State between 2003 and 2011, further prayed for a peaceful and prosperous reign for the Olubadan designate. He wished Oba Ladoja long life, good health, and success in preserving the cultural heritage of Ibadan and the Yoruba race.

Daniel concluded his felicitation with the traditional Yoruba prayer for kingship longevity: “K’ádé pẹ l’órí, kí bàtà pẹ l’ésè, Kabiyesi.”
