A murder suspect, Ayomide Oluwadamilare, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command while attempting to sell a stolen vehicle linked to the brutal killing of Mr. Kola Adun, a resident of River Valley Estate, Ojodu Berger.
According to the police, the suspect, who once worked as the deceased’s driver, allegedly stabbed Mr. Adun to death inside his home and fled the scene with the victim’s Toyota Camry (Reg. No. AAA 193 GC).
The decomposing body of Mr. Adun was discovered on Sunday, July 7, 2025, after a concerned friend reported a strange smell and the unresponsiveness of the victim to calls. Upon arrival at Ogunmoyero Street, officers from the Ojodu Abiodun Division forced their way into the residence and found the victim’s lifeless body on the first floor, bearing multiple stab wounds. Bloodstains were observed at the scene.
Suspicion had mounted earlier that morning when a friend who had arrived to pick Mr. Adun for church service noticed that the house gate was locked from the outside, and his phone had been turned off.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Ayomide, 25, had gained unauthorized entry into the home on Saturday, July 5, with the intention to rob, but ended up murdering Mr. Adun before fleeing with his car.
A major breakthrough came when the suspect attempted to sell the stolen Camry to a car dealer in Ijede, Ikorodu. The dealer, sensing something was amiss, promptly alerted the police, leading to Ayomide’s arrest at the point of transaction.
The remains of the deceased have since been deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, for autopsy, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.
Confirming the development, CSP Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, stated that justice would be pursued to its full extent.
The case, now drawing public attention across the state, underscores the vital role of vigilance among community members and stakeholders, a message fasnewsng.com continues to amplify in its pursuit of justice and security reportage.
