The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairperson of the Governing Board of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba, Dr. Mary Alile Idele, PhD, has urged Nigerians to use this year’s Eid el Maulud celebration as a defining moment to embrace unity, compassion, and shared responsibility in nation building.

In her special goodwill message released in Abuja, Dr. Alile described Eid el Maulud as more than a religious commemoration, but a moral compass reminding leaders and citizens alike of the timeless teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). She stressed that the Prophet’s life remains a model of humility, justice, and service that Nigeria must draw from in its quest for peace and development.

“On behalf of the women of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and in my personal capacity, I extend heartfelt greetings to our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria as they mark this year’s Eid el Maulud,” she stated. “The life and message of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) serve as a timeless guide for believers and leaders alike, especially in moments of political transition, economic reforms, and global challenges.”Alile

Dr. Alile encouraged Nigerians to reflect soberly, pray for peace, stability, and prosperity, and recommit to the ideals of tolerance and moral uprightness that transcend religious and ethnic divides. She emphasized that such values remain essential for the country’s cohesion and future growth.

Noting the remarkable contributions of Muslim women to community life across the country, the APC Women Leader reiterated her commitment to inclusive governance and the advancement of women in leadership regardless of faith or region. According to her, “Muslim and Christian women alike have always been pillars of our national development and must be given equal opportunities to contribute at every level.”

She further appealed to citizens to strengthen bonds of unity across Nigeria’s diverse cultural and religious spectrum, stressing that the Prophet’s message of mercy and compassion provides a shared ground for collective progress.

Dr. Alile concluded her message with prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC-led government, and all leaders across the federation, urging them to emulate the Prophet’s example of visionary and selfless leadership in service to the people.
