EFCC staff of the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML) on Friday, August 1, 2025, paid glowing tributes to their outgoing Director, Daniel Isei, at a heartfelt send-forth held in Abuja.

Isei, who now serves as the Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ilorin, was described by colleagues as an exemplary leader who left an indelible mark during his four-year tenure, the longest in SCUML’s history.

In his address, SCUML’s current Director, Deputy Commander of the EFCC DCE Harry Erin, praised Isei’s passionate leadership, technical expertise, and dedication to institutional growth. “He served with his whole heart and brought stability and excellence to SCUML. Leadership is not a title; it’s a legacy. Where he is today is a stepping stone to greater heights,” Erin remarked.Isei

He urged staff to emulate Isei’s strong work ethic and commitment, posing a reflective question to the team: “If you are to leave SCUML today, what will you be remembered for?”

Also speaking, DCE Paschal J. Samu, Head of the Registration and Outreach Programme, described Isei as a calm and hardworking leader who “made tremendous achievements” and will be greatly missed by the Unit.

Other staff members echoed similar sentiments, praising Isei’s kind-hearted nature, tolerance, and strong interpersonal relationships. Many acknowledged him as a unifying force whose time at SCUML fostered harmony, growth, and professionalism.

In his response, Isei expressed gratitude for the overwhelming show of love and support, emphasizing that his achievements were rooted in teamwork.Isei

“No Director can succeed alone. Everything we accomplished was the result of working together — as a team and a family,” he stated.

He encouraged SCUML officers to remain united, share knowledge freely, and continue upholding the integrity of both SCUML and the EFCC.

The event climaxed with the presentation of the SCUML plaque to Isei in recognition of his impactful service and leadership.
