E-Terra Technologies Ltd., a leading company in the eco-friendly management of electronic waste (e-waste), partnered with the E-Waste Relief Foundation (ERF) to bring smiles to the faces of the people of Shoba Community in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State. This was achieved through a one-day free medical outreach that served over 200 residents, including children.
E-Terra, known for its pioneering efforts in e-waste recycling, refurbishing, and data destruction, aligned this outreach with its commitment to a greener planet. ERF, Nigeria’s first non-governmental organization dedicated to addressing the global e-waste crisis, played a crucial role in organizing the event. The NGO’s goals include raising awareness about the dangers of e-waste, promoting e-waste education across Nigeria, and advising government agencies on sustainable e-waste management policies.
The outreach provided much-needed medical care to Shoba’s residents, while also educating them on the importance of safe disposal of obsolete electronics to prevent health hazards. The event highlighted the companies’ dedication to corporate social responsibility, focusing on improving the well-being of the community in which they operate.
Chief Jimoh Raheem, the Baale of Shoba Community, expressed his gratitude to E-Terra Technologies, recalling their previous donation of computers to The School of Technologies. However, he noted that this medical outreach had an even more profound impact, directly benefiting the people of his community.
Mr. Solomon Ekpo, a Shoba resident, praised the initiative, stating that it not only provided essential health services but also enhanced his understanding of the importance of professional and effective e-waste disposal.
Prince Raheem, the son of the Baale, also commended E-Terra and ERF for their generosity, calling E-Terra’s presence a blessing to the community.
As the event came to a close, the Baale led the community in thanking and praying for the staff of E-Terra Technologies Ltd. and ERF, leaving a lasting impression of goodwill and community spirit.
