As part of the 2024 NPF Servicom Week celebrations, the Delta State  Police Command hosted a series of activities, drawing together stakeholders from civil society groups, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), and others.

The command’s engagement with the community focused on strengthening ties and finding collaborative solutions to security challenges through various forums, including town hall meetings and educational outreach programs.Delta
Throughout the week, the command held discussions with members of local communities, as well as students in higher institutions across the state, addressing concerns and brainstorming solutions. In a show of support for education, the Delta State Police also visited primary and secondary schools, offering humanitarian assistance by donating books and uniforms to pupils. Officers used this platform to encourage students to remain focused on their academics and avoid engaging in criminal activities as they grow older.
During the closing event, Comrade Akima Efemena praised the Delta State Police for their commitment to maintaining peace and order under intense pressure. He recognized the significant improvement in the state’s security, attributing it to the strategic intelligence deployed by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda. Efemena expressed hope that the command would continue with its current level of dedication.Delta
The Chairman of the PCRC Delta State Chapter, Comrade Amb. Oliver Eyefia, also lauded the command’s service delivery, stating that the synergy between the police and the community has been exemplary and should be sustained. He highlighted the positive impact of this collaboration in fostering peace and security in the state.
As Delta State’s security landscape continues to improve, the partnership between the police and local communities remains essential. The command’s efforts to engage, educate, and protect citizens during Servicom Week have further solidified this bond.
