Proactive policing is key in crime prevention and that is why the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali has continued to remind Divisional Police Officers (DPO) and tactical commanders  that they must key into the system of policing,  intensive stop and search, regular patrols and raiding of black spots.

In view of the above, the Delta State Police Command’s Eagle-Net Special Squad, while on routine patrol/stop and search duty along Ughelli-Warri express way on Monday, June 14, 2021 intercepted a Toyota Picnic car navy blue colour with Reg. No. AAA 464 YA with six (6) male occupants, and the countenance of some the passengers was suspicious hence,they were all asked to come down for search.

The suspects, 20-years-old Kelvin Godstime of Upper Afisere in Ughelli North LGA and  23-years-old Samson Ekutu of Ugbogeme of Udu LGA were arrested for being in possession of three (3) locally made pistols, two (2) handsets, one mobile phone, power bank and the cash sum of three hundred and sixteen thousand six hundred and forty naira (N316, 640.00).
In the same vein, the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) Okpanam Division, Delta State Command on Sunday, June 13, 2021, around 23:10pm, in response to a distressed call received information that an armed robber entered into the house of the distressed caller (name withheld) and was forcing victims that does not have cash to transfer money to his account, The DPO swiftly deployed patrol teams to the area.

The patrol team, on getting to the scene cordoned the area, and arrested an 18-years-old Emmanuel Peace with a dummy wooden gun.The suspect had already successfully forced an aged couple to  transfer the sum of six hundred thousand Naira (N600, 000)  to an account number owned by one Anwanga Abasi Nathaniel Udo. Other exhibit recovered from the suspect includes two (2) knives and one (1) torchlight.

The acting public imaker maker, DSP Edafe Bright for the Delta State Police Command told Fasnews that investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court accordingly.
