Delta Police Celebrates Excellence:As CSP Aliyu Shaba Wins Top National Awards

In a ceremonious event held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, Commissioner of Police for Delta State, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, proudly presented the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ekpan Police Station, CSP Aliyu Shaba, with the prestigious awards of DPO of the Year and Police Officer of the Year. These accolades were bestowed upon CSP Shaba at the maiden Nigeria Police Award and Commendation ceremony, which took place on April 15, 2024, in Abuja.

The presentation, attended by key stakeholders and dignitaries, underscored the remarkable achievements of CSP Shaba and the unwavering support from the Delta State government. CP Olufemi emphasized the importance of acknowledging such feats to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State. He highlighted that the significant strides made by the Delta State Police Command and CSP Shaba were made possible due to the steadfast backing from the Governor and the cooperative spirit of the Delta State populace.Delta
Governor Oborevwori, in his congratulatory remarks, lauded CSP Shaba for his exemplary service and dedication. He noted that Ekpan, once notorious for its high crime rate, has transformed under CSP Shaba’s leadership. “Ekpan was a very hot zone and comfortable place for criminals, but since CSP Aliyu Shaba was posted there, complete sanity has been restored to the area, and residents in Ekpan can now sleep with their two eyes closed,” the Governor stated. He urged other officers to emulate CSP Shaba’s commitment to duty and thanked CP Olufemi for providing the necessary support to the officers.

In recognition of CSP Shaba’s outstanding performance, Governor Oborevwori presented him with a cash gift, encouraging him to continue his diligent efforts with the popular adage, “The reward for hard work is more work.”

The event, held in Asaba, was also addressed by SP Edafe Bright, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command. He reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining peace and security across Delta State and applauded CSP Shaba’s achievements as a beacon of excellence within the force.
