In a major breakthrough against cult-related violence and illegal arms dealings, operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) have arrested several suspects and recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and incriminating materials from different locations across the state.
Acting on credible intelligence, the tactical team led by ASP Julius Robinson launched a sting operation at about 3:45 a.m. on June 11, 2025, in Mosogar, Ethiope West Local Government Area. The team raided the residence of one Koko Josh, 29, a native of Otor-Iyede in Isoko North LGA, and his associate Asomugha Clinton, 27, from Mbaisse in Ezinihitte LGA of Imo State.
During a lawful search of the premises, Police operatives discovered a black bag containing a fabricated Baretta pistol loaded with two rounds of live ammunition, two locally made guns, and eight live cartridges. Additional items recovered include multiple mobile phones, a laptop, and fetish objects believed to be used for cult rituals.
Further investigation led to the arrest of two more suspected cultists: Anthony Kelvin, 26, from Orhoakpor Community in Ethiope East LGA, and Gift Amotsuka, 25, from Jakpa Community in Warri North LGA. All four suspects, who reside along Adams Street, Mosogar, are strongly believed to be members of the Aiye Confraternity. They are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
In a related development, on June 13, 2025, at about 4:00 p.m., the CP-SAT operatives launched another sting operation at Okpanam, Asaba, resulting in the arrest of Ekene Chroma, 36, from Issele-Uku, and Okafor Jonathan, 18, from Onicha-Ugbo, both in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State.
A search of their residence yielded two English-made single-barrel guns and an astonishing 110 live cartridges. Preliminary findings suggest that both suspects are involved in the illegal business of gun running. They, too, are in custody along with the recovered exhibits.

Confirming the arrests and recoveries to fasnewsng.com, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, praised the swift actions of the CP-SAT team and expressed gratitude to residents whose timely information has continued to yield successful police operations.
