Armed hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday, 5th of June,2022, met their Waterloo while attempting to rob and possibly kidnap occupants of a space bus, not knowing the occupants were Operatives of Delta State Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

The anti-crime undercover operatives were on patrol around Umunede, along Asaba/Benin expressway when the hoodlums opened fire on their vehicle.

The armed  hoodlums numbering about five {5} were said to have suddenly emerged from the bush and fired gunshots at the space bus, an action that prompted the team to smartly disembark from the vehicle and returned fire.

The Armed hoodlums, realizing that their potential victims were policemen ran into the bush but operatives chased after them in a fierce gun duel. Three {3} members of the armed gang  were fatally wounded and one fabricated revolver pistol, six {06} 7.62mm live ammunition, four {04} expended 7.62mm ammunition were recovered from them. The injured armed bandits were taken to  the hospital but died while receiving treatment.
In same vein, Operatives of Eagle-Net Special Squad while on Aberdeen system of patrol along Asaba Ogwashi-Uku expressway on Sunday, intercepted a commercial vehicle which was subjected to search. Four thousand and fifty-four {4054} wraps of substance suspected to be Cocaine, nine hundred and fifty-four {954} wraps of heroines were recovered in a bag belonging to one Edea Samuel, age 20 who resides at Ochele Street off Ojugbana Drive Ezenei, Asaba.Armed
Also, operatives of the Command’s Anti-Cult Unit on Saturday, 4th of June,2022, acting on a tip-off, raided  a criminal hideout  in an uncompleted building  along Mariam Babangida way, opposite North- West filling Station  Asaba, Delta State, during which  five hundred and forty {540} rounds of live cartridges, three {03} Elepac Generators, one solar light, one {01} singer sewing machine, two {02} television sets and one {01} Lifan motorcycle, all suspected to have been stolen, were recovered and a suspect, Suleiman Musa, age 48, was arrested.
Meanwhile, Delta State Command PRO, DSP. Edafe Bright in a statement made available to FASNEWSNG said investigations are ongoing to apprehend fleeing hoodlums and CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, psc+, as assured residents of the State, that the Command is more than ever before, committed and determined to flush out all hoodlums (criminal minded persons) in the State, urges residence to be mindful of any suspicious persons or movements in their environment and promptly report such to the Police.
