In a recent operation on August 27, 2023, Delta State Police apprehended a group of individuals during a raid on what was believed to be a same-sex marriage ceremony.
Acting on a tip-off, officers raided Teebolus Hotel in Ekpan Warri, where attendees dispersed upon their arrival. A total of sixty-seven (67) individuals were arrested, and items such as drugs and ceremonial clothing were seized. 
The Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass, strongly condemned same-sex relationships, emphasizing that such relationships are prohibited by law and encouraged the public to report any such activities and uphold societal standards.
