The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has firmly dismissed widespread speculation that it has halted operations, assuring Nigerians and market stakeholders that production remains uninterrupted and fuel supplies stable.

In a statement issued by Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, the refinery’s management categorically denied reports alleging the suspension of truck loading or production activities.

“The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is fully operational. There has been no shutdown, nor has there been any suspension of truck loading activities,” the statement declared.

The company explained that the recent intermittent sale of Residual Catalytic Oil (RCO) is part of standard business practice, typically involving bulk parcel sales, which accounts for its recent fuel oil tender.

According to the refinery, it continues to deliver over 40 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) daily, alongside consistent volumes of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), also known as diesel, despite market chatter suggesting otherwise.Refinery

“As the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery, the facility operates with advanced predictive and preventive maintenance systems to ensure smooth, uninterrupted operations,” the statement noted, adding that routine maintenance has no effect on the overall fuel supply chain.

Addressing fears of possible fuel scarcity and price hikes, the refinery issued an open challenge to those spreading the rumors:

“We invite interested buyers to place orders for daily deliveries of up to 40 million litres of PMS and 15 million litres of diesel for the next 90 days.”

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and Nigeria’s energy security, Dangote Petroleum Refinery urged the public to disregard the “unfounded claims sponsored by unscrupulous and unpatriotic individuals” bent on undermining the nation’s energy independence to promote the importation of substandard fuels under the guise of domestic shortages.
