In a bid to foster inclusive growth and sustainable impact in its areas of operation, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has established a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Unit to drive its commitment to national development. This strategic initiative underscores the Service’s broader responsibility beyond trade facilitation, revenue generation, and border security.

The newly launched CSR Unit will lead programs under the “Customs Cares” initiative, a flagship effort aimed at aligning with national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Customs
The initiative will focus on school renovations, mobile clinic activations, food and medical aid, agricultural support, skills acquisition programs, and youth empowerment. Through these strategic interventions, the NCS seeks to strengthen community relations, enhance public trust, and improve the well-being of Nigerians.
Recognizing the importance of collaboration in driving impact, the Service is committed to working with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, private sector partners, and local communities to ensure the success of these programs. The launch of the Customs CSR Unit signals the beginning of a long-term commitment to structured, nationwide social responsibility initiatives.
Under the leadership of Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, the Nigeria Customs Service  is integrating social responsibility into its core operations. This initiative aligns with the Presidential Priority Areas and further reinforces the Service’s role as a socially responsible institution. Customs Cares will also complement President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, fostering stronger community engagement and staff participation in nation-building efforts.
