Amidst mounting allegations, the Executive Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Mr. Wale Adedayo, has accused Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, of withholding federal allocations from local government areas and neglecting constitutional revenue disbursements.
Adedayo claims that 20 LGA Chairmen have received no federal allocations since 2021 and the constitutionally-mandated 10% of state Internally Generated Revenues has not been provided. Additionally, allegations of mismanagement extend to President Muhammad Buhari’s intervention funds and other revenue sources, which reportedly have not reached the LGAs due to state government control.

In response, the Gateway Rebirth Forum has called for transparency and accountability, urging Governor Abiodun to release audited financial reports of all 20 local government areas since his administration began in May 2019. The forum also demands publication of all due revenue allocations to the LGAs and the establishment of a fact-finding
committee by the Ogun State House of Assembly to investigate these allegations further. The forum highlights the need for responsible leadership to address these matters, given their impact on the grassroots level of governance.
