The Nigerian Military School (NMS), Zaria, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, celebrated its 67th Passing Out Parade in grand style, with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, urging graduating boys to embrace discipline, resilience, and patriotism as guiding principles in their lives.

Delivering his address through the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Major General Mayirenso Saraso, who represented him at the NMS event, General Oluyede congratulated the graduating class, describing their milestone as a reflection of years of hard work, determination, and adherence to the noble values of duty, honor, and national service.

“Over the past six years, you have surmounted challenges that tested your limits, both physically and mentally. You have learned teamwork, selflessness, and integrity. These lessons have shaped you into soldiers, guardians of our sovereignty, defenders of our democracy, and symbols of national pride,” the COAS said.NMS

He reiterated his Command Philosophy anchored on readiness, operational effectiveness, sound administration, and collaboration with stakeholders, underscoring the “Soldier First” principle, which places the welfare and morale of troops at the forefront.

According to General Oluyede, the Nigerian Army remains committed to enhancing the living standards of its personnel through improved welfare schemes, upgraded facilities, and progressive career development policies.

As part of the celebration, notable infrastructure projects were commissioned, including the remodeled Calabar Company, NMS House, and the Principal Staff Officers’ (PSOs) House.NMS

The colorful ceremony concluded with a group photograph of dignitaries, marking another proud chapter in the school’s history of producing disciplined, patriotic, and service-ready young men for the nation.
